Fire is a mechanic in Darkwood, only some items are able to produce it in some way, usually by igniting Gasoline. These items are: Torches, Matchsticks, Flares, Explosive Barrels, Gas Tanks and Molotov Cocktail.

Note that:

• Simply touching a fire will cause the Burning status effect.
• Fire can also damage the Protagonist.
• Fire cannot be extinguished by rain and water.
• Fire from Gasoline can be too small to possibly injure enemies.

Fire can be produced with:

• Torches can ignite Gasoline to produce a fire but they cannot create the Burning status effect directly.
• Matchsticks and Flares can ignite Gasoline to produce a fire.
• Explosive Barrels and Gas Tanks, when set off, can ignite Gasoline to produce a fire.
• Each Molotov Cocktail creates its own (small) fire.

Strategy

It is possible to create an incendiary trap in hideouts, simply by pouring a puddle of Gasoline and igniting it at the right moment.
